The 18+ check: why and how

PartyPPL is for people aged 18 and over. After your first login we ask your date of birth once. In the iPhone app you can also use Confirm with Apple.

Almost all events are 18+, and PartyPPL is about going out as it really is. That is why you can only have an account if you are 18 or older.

How it works

  • Right after your first login you see the question Are you 18+? If you log in with Apple or a passkey, you get the same question.
  • Enter your date of birth and tap Confirm. We work out your age.
  • If you are 18 or older, we store the date and that the check passed. We do not ask again after that.

By going on you agree to the terms and confirm you have read the privacy statement.

Confirm with Apple

In the app on your iPhone you can also tap Confirm with Apple. iOS then only shares whether you are 18+, not your date of birth. If Apple does not confirm 18+, or it does not work, just enter your date of birth. If you do not see the button, your device cannot share it and you enter your date of birth as well.

Under 18?

Then we do not accept the date and do not store it. You can browse, report something and manage your account, but you cannot do anything social or buy anything. If an account turns out to belong to someone under 18, we delete it.

At the door

We do not ask for ID, but the organiser checks your age at the door. Always bring valid ID. A ticket in Apple Wallet is not proof of your age. If you cannot show ID, the organiser may refuse you, even with a valid ticket, and you do not get your money back.
